Two figures get conflated here and it is worth separating them. The GSMA forecasts eSIM at roughly 42% of all SIM technologies by 2030, a denominator that includes feature phones and IoT modules. Within smartphone connections specifically the forecast is around 55%, with some houses considerably higher. Both can be true at once, and quoting one while meaning the other is the most common error in eSIM market commentary.
